Kari Wührer is an American actress, model, and singer. She is known for her roles on the shows Remote Control and Sliders, and in the films Stephen King’s Thinner and Eight Legged Freaks.

Her father is of German descent. Her maternal grandfather was of Colonial American (English) ancestry, and her maternal grandmother’s parents were also German.

Kari is married to James Scura. She has also been credited as Kari Wührer Salin, Kari Salin, and Kari Salin-Wührer, the surnames of her former husband Daniel Salin.

Kari’s paternal grandfather was Andrew Joseph/Fredrich Wuhrer (the son of Andrew Anton Wuhrer and Marie Attenberger). Kari’s grandfather Andrew was born in Connecticut, to parents from Munich, Germany. Kari’s great-grandfather Andrew was the son of Christina Aschauer. Marie was the daughter of Adam Attenberger and Maria Gruber.

Kari’s paternal grandmother was Melba A. Hirtz (the daughter of Fred/Gottfried Francis Hirtz and Antoinette Marie Lapierne). Melba was born in Connecticut. Kari’s maternal grandfather was William Curtis Noble (the son of Curtis Albert Noble and Ruth Baynard Jerome). William was born in New York. Kari’s great-grandfather Curtis was the son of Charles Curtis Noble and Kathleen Belle Little. Ruth was the daughter of Frank Colt Jerome and Jennie Marie Baynard. Frank was the grandson of clockmaker Chauncey Jerome.

Kari’s maternal grandmother was Ellen/Eleonore Elisabethluise Rapp (the daughter of Karl P. Rapp and Elisabeth Wuest). Ellen was born in Bodman-Ludwigshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
